YVES DE WIT – MECHELEN The man with the “Tornadoes”!
Yves de Wit lives with his wife Christel and their daughter, Paulien in a town called Mechelen – approximately 28KM south of Antwerp.
Yves came into the sport via his paternal Uncle’s and started to race on his own at 16 years of age.
He and his family moved to their current home in 2000 and he races from Quievrain 53 miles and Noyon 125 miles miles in the local Federation “Samenspel Hombeek-Heffen-Waarloos-Duffel” which is liberated with the whole of the Province of Antwerp and Vlaams Brabant from Quievrain and the whole of the Province of Antwerp from Noyon. Yves has a central location at the front of the organisation.
Due to his shift and night work patterns for the Belgian Railways Yves concentrates on the youngsters in July and August he takes a leave of absence to concentrate on his pigeon racing.
The first season at the current address was a disappointment so Yves made the decision to sourced new pigeons, from Karel Laenen (via his good friend Rudy Van Reeth), the line of the renowned Pitbul. Yves built his new team around several Children and Grandchildren of the Pitbul 777 along with the super line of “De Jul” and the best from Karel’s other winning lines.
Since then Yves results have been unquestionably outstanding. Yves’s takes huge pride in the quality of his pigeons and this is reflected in his performances. Just a couple of examples of highlights in Yves racing career include:
1st Provincial and 3rd National AceDuif Snelheid KBDB with den Tornado.
Along with this year having two ace pigeons – 1st & 2nd Asduif Season 2018.
